How it works

Safe, tailored plans in three steps

1

Build your safe profile

Add allergens, intolerances, medical diets and simple dislikes for every person in your household — including severity, so a trace warning is treated differently from a preference.

Get a weekly plan that fits

Receive seven days of breakfasts, lunches and dinners, each cross-checked against every profile. Swap any meal and the replacement is checked too.

Shop and cook with confidence

Your grocery list groups safe brands by aisle, flags "may contain" risks, and ties each ingredient back to the recipe it belongs to.

Features

Built for the details other apps skip

Most meal planners filter by a tag. ClearPlate traces every ingredient, sub-ingredient and brand so nothing slips through.

Ingredient-level allergen tracing

We check hidden sources — whey in "natural flavouring", wheat in soy sauce, nuts in pesto — not just the headline ingredient.

Multi-person households

One child is coeliac, one adult is dairy-free? Plan a single dinner everyone can eat, or get parallel versions with shared prep.

Safe-brand grocery lists

Lists name specific brands verified free of your allergens, with cross-contamination warnings pulled from manufacturer statements.

Checked substitutions

Don't like a recipe? Every suggested swap is re-screened against your profile before it ever appears on your plan.

Dietitian-reviewed recipes

Our library is written and reviewed by registered dietitians specialising in allergy, IBS and medical nutrition therapy.

Eating-out & travel cards

Print or save a plain-language card of your restrictions in 12 languages to hand to kitchens when you're away from your own.

Why it matters

Dinner shouldn't feel like a risk assessment

If you've ever stood in the supermarket reading the same label three times, you know the mental load. ClearPlate carries it for you.

  • Profiles support severity levels, from "avoid" to "anaphylaxis — no traces"
  • Medical diets built in: renal, diabetic, low-FODMAP, low-histamine, elimination
  • Recipes show exactly why each one was approved for your profile
  • Manual overrides when your allergist's guidance changes

"My son has a severe peanut and tree nut allergy. For the first time I'm not cross-checking every single recipe myself. The 'why this is safe' note on each meal is what sold me."

"Low-FODMAP and dairy-free at the same time used to mean eating the same four things. Now I get a different plan every week and my gut has been calm for months."

FAQ

Questions people with restrictions actually ask

How do you make sure a recipe is actually safe for me?

Every ingredient in our library is mapped to its sub-ingredients and known allergen sources, and each recipe is screened against your full profile — including severity and trace-avoidance settings — before it appears. Each approved recipe shows a "why this is safe" summary. ClearPlate is a planning tool and does not replace advice from your allergist or doctor; always check product labels before eating.

Which allergens and diets do you support?

All 14 major regulated allergens (including the EU and FDA lists), plus 25+ less common ones such as sesame, mustard, lupin, sulphites and corn. Medical diets include coeliac/gluten-free, low-FODMAP, low-histamine, renal, diabetes-friendly, low-sodium and custom elimination protocols. You can also add free-text restrictions and we'll map them to ingredients.

Can I plan for a household where everyone has different restrictions?

Yes. The Household plan supports up to six profiles. For each meal you choose "one dish for all" (screened against every profile at once) or "parallel versions" that share prep but differ in a key ingredient.

What happens if my restrictions change?

Update your profile at any time. Your current week is re-screened immediately and any recipe that no longer passes is flagged with a checked replacement suggested.

Do I need a credit card for the free trial?

No. Sign up on the web, use ClearPlate for 14 days, and only add payment if you decide to continue. Nothing is charged automatically.

Are the safe-brand lists available in my country?

Safe-brand matching is currently available in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Everywhere else you still get full recipe screening and generic grocery lists with allergen warnings.
